Brothers relishing chance to represent Memerang

It is not often 3 brothers get the chance to play in the same rugby league team, let alone together for their country. But this is what the Postlethwaite brothers, Liam; Connor and Fynn are aiming to achieve after all being named in the Singapore Memerang squad to compete at the Asian Championships in Manila, Philippines this coming week.

For eldest brother Liam, a former national rugby union U19s and 7’s member, this is a chance of a lifetime and one in which has come unexpectedly.

Middle brother Connor, who has also represented Singapore in rugby 7s on the Asia Series, has long held a passion to play rugby league having witnessed the game up close in Australia where he is currently based studying Batchelor of Applied Sciences, Sports and Exercise Science at University of Sydney.

Fynn is one of the youngest players in the Memerang squad and joins his elder brothers in Manila as a Development Player on this tour. During the week-long camp, he will get a chance to learn and develop his rugby league skills to then be able to impart that newfound knowledge to his teammates in the Singapore domestic competition slated for mid-2026 start.

For the Postlethwaite brothers, this is an exciting and unique opportunity to represent their family and their nation and will hopefully lead to more games together into the future.

The Asian Championship kicks off this Thursday when the Singapore Memerang face the Japanese Samuaris at the International School Manila. Match will kick off at 3pm local time and will be live streamed.
