Hong Kong China name squad for Asian Championship

Hong Kong China head coach, Lee Griffiths, has unveiled the 23 players set to represent the Thunder at the inaugural Asian Championship, to be held this November in Manila, Philippines.

The Thunder’s squad features an exciting blend of seasoned internationals and promising new blood, with ten debutants named for the historic tournament. Providing crucial leadership and experience are players like former Roosters U20s prop Toby Lei, experienced second rower Jason Yip, and halfback Gus Spence.

The Thunder last international match was against the Philippines, with Hong Kong China running out 34 – 20 victors.

They will face formidable opposition from the host nation, the Philippines, along with Singapore and Japan, when the four-team championship kicks off from November 27 to 29.
